Junior All Saints
Junior All Saints (JAS)
There are 4 JAS groups for children and young people that meet during the Sunday morning (10.30am) service.
The aim of JAS is:
To bring children into a living relationship with Jesus
To teach children about the Bible
To provide a safe environment for learning
To help children make connections between Christian faith and the living world
To demonstrate Christianity in action
To have fun!
JAS – Explorers
This group is for pre-school children from 3 years old and for children who attend infant school (school year 2). There are a variety of activities on offer and we use materials supplied by Scripture Union. Our aim is to teach young children about Jesus in a fun way. This includes short Bible stories, arts & crafts, games and lots more. The Explorers meet in the back room of the Church Hall.
JAS – Investigators
This group is primarily for children attending junior school from school year 3 to the end of school year 5. The group use drama, role play, games, arts & crafts, and quizzes to help teach the children about the Bible. Scripture Union material forms the basis of each session. The Investigators meet in the main part of the Church Hall.
Eureka
This is for children in the last year of junior school (year 6) and children in school year 7 and 8 (up to teenage years). Themed games and activities are used to set the scene for each session, followed by Bible study and discussion. Scripture Union material forms the basis of each session. Eureka meets in the main part of the Church Hall.
TGWNN (The Group With No Name)
TGWNN is for teenagers who want to explore Christianity, learn about the Bible, and see how this is relevant to our daily life.
The sessions include Bible study, video, fun activities and music. The group meets weekly as part of the main 10.30pm service.
The group started 2012 with a study of the book of Esther, and this has been followed with part two of the study of the monarchy.
The current study is looking at the reign of Solomon, and continues on with the division of the kingdom, with a selective look at some of the kings that followed Solomon. The study concludes with a look at the time spent exiled in Babylon using the book of Daniel.
Later in the year the group will take part in the youth version of Freedom in Christ. Please keep checking the website for more details.
