“Blessed are the meek…” so is there any place for ambition?  In the church?  In work or society?

Jesus once said, “You make mistakes—because you don’t know the Scriptures”. And it’s a fact that most people in our country today just don’t know the Bible at all. They don’t know who wrote it; they don’t know who’s in it; they don’t what it’s about. Watch any TV quiz show, and when a biblical question comes up it’s 99% probable that the answer will show total ignorance of even the most basic facts.  Within the churches there tends to be a trend towards a “consumer religion” which is strong on ‘worship’ but is often shallow in spiritual content. It is our aim in the NEXUS meetings to deepen knowledge, strengthen faith and promote personal growth.  And all this within a relaxed and happy atmosphere!  Besides looking at issues that the group members raise, we are also studying the books of the Bible— those with which we are familiar, but also those that are often put aside for one reason or another.  Whilst NEXUS is a ministry of All Saints Church, we warmly welcome people from other churches. You would be at home with us within a very short time …. Do feel free to join us!
